On the occasion of the 158th birthday anniversary of Dr. Alexandre Yersin (September 22nd 1863 - September 22nd 2021), on the morning of September 22nd, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Khac Toan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ha Quoc Tri - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly and members of the Association of admirers of Doctor A. Yersin of the province came to offer incense at the grave of Doctor A. Yersin (Suoi Cat commune, Cam Lam district).

At here, the delegates together reviewed the life story of Dr. A. Yersin; At the same time, he expressed their affection and gratitude for the great contributions and gracious of the respected doctor, scientist, and social activist for the Vietnamese people in general, Khanh Hoa province in particular.
On the same morning, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the ceremony to celebrate the 158th birthday of Dr. A. Yersin at the office of the Association of Admirers of Doctor A. Yersin (No. 11 Sinh Trung Street, Nha Trang City). At here, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu and the delegates respectfully offered incenses to commemorate Dr. A. Yersin; at the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude to Dr A. Yersin’s contributions and dedication.

On this occasion, NFT Ngoc Linh Conservation Joint Stock Company offered 10 scholarships worth 500,000 VND/per one to poor students who overcome difficulties of Yersin Junior High School (Nha Trang City); donated 20 million VND to the fund of Dr. Yersin Charity Clinic; Lien Minh Group (Da Lat City) donated 150 million VND to the fund of Dr. Yersin Charity Clinic.

* Alexandre Yersin was born in Switzerland. In 1891, he came to Nha Trang to work and live until his death (March 1st 1943). He was the one who found plague bacteria and co-researched and successfully produced treatment serum; is the founder of Nha Trang Pasteur Institute; founder of Medical School in Hanoi (now Hanoi Medical University); he was also a pilot in many industrial and medicinal plants in Suoi Dau; he discovered Hon Ba (Khanh Hoa), Lang Biang Plateau (Lam Dong) ... In 2013, Alexandre Yersin was awarded the honorary title of Vietnam Citizen by the Government.
The Association of Admirers of Doctor Yersin in Khanh Hoa province was established in 1992. Currently, the total number of members of the Association is 165 people. Over the past time, the Association has had many specific and practical activities to propagate, promote the spirit of Doctor A. Yersin to a large number of domestic and international friends.
