Celebrating 76th death anniversary of Dr. Alexandre Yersin
On the morning of March 1st, at Nha Trang city, the 76th death anniversary ceremony of Dr. Alexandre Yersin (March 1st 1943 – March 1st 2019) took place. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien - Minister of Health; Mr. Nguyen Dac Tai - Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and many international delegations, representatives of departments, agencies attended.
Delegates are offering incenses at Dr. Yersin park.
At the anniversary, delegates reviewed history and dedication of Dr. Alexandre Yersin for Vietnam's Medicine and Agriculture; at the same time, shared the knowledge of his life and career and expressed the love for him.
Immediately after the anniversary, delegates offered incenses and flowers at Yersin monument (Yersin Park, Nha Trang City) and Yersin tomb (Suoi Cat commune, Cam Lam district).

Alexandre Yersin was born on September 22nd 1863 in Switzerland. In 1891, he came to Nha Trang to work and live until his death. He was the one who found plague bacteria and co-researched and successfully produced treatment serum; is the founder of Nha Trang Pasteur Institute; founder of Medical School in Hanoi (now Hanoi Medical University); he was also a pilot in many industrial and medicinal plants (coca, rubber, Liberia coffee ...) in Suoi Dau; he discovered Hon Ba (Khanh Hoa), Lang Biang Plateau (Lam Dong) ... In 2013, Alexandre Yersin was awarded the honorary title of Vietnam Citizen by the Government.
