According to Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, 6 months of 2020, the index of industrial production (IIP) of the whole province increased 0.68% over the same period last year. This is the lowest increase in the entire period of 2012 - 2019 (IIP index in the period of 2012-2019 increases on average by 6.9%/year).

Processing and manufacturing industry increased by 0.99% over the same period last year.
In particular, the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam decreased by 3.43% over the same period in 2019; Processing and manufacturing industry increased by 0.99% over the same period last year; Mining industry increased by 21.2%; water supply, garbage and waste management and treatment activities decreased by 1.73%.
Some major industrial products that have the same IIP or increased over the same period last year are: Wooden wardrobe, RS sugar, production electricity, bird’s nest, other healthy beverages, other construction stones...The products: frozen tuna, other frozen fishes, frozen shrimps, natural fiber, commercial electricity ... have decreased industrial production index.
Due to Covid-19 epidemic affected the production and business activities of industrial enterprises in the province. In June 2020, the number of employees working in industrial enterprises decreased by 5.83% over the same period last year and increased by 0.04% from the previous month. Generally, in the first 6 months of 2020, the number of employees working in industrial enterprises decreased by 3.55% over the same period last year.
