My Trach people reslove to maintain tradditional mat weaving career.
|
My Trach village (Ninh Ha, Ninh Hoa) has long time mat weaving career. My Trach mat is famous not only by the characteristics of the trees here (durable and good) but also the experience, textile technique and workers’ emotion. Although as other traditional villages, My Trach mat weaving village(MWV) is entering a recession, people here still hold the forefathers’ traditional craft.
A resounded time
No one knows when My Trach MWV appeared but we are sure definitely the My Trach mats’ quality. If comparing the same type and size, a pair mats is produced in the other place just using only six months, My Trach mats have twice duration! What makes that "miracle" ? People said, My Trach mats made from sedge scrub living in special water. That thing has made My Trach fiber rush toned than elsewhere. Furthermore, My Trach sedge mat is also prepared specially "hang out in the morning and roll up in the afternoon", while in many places mats are dried overnight makes fiber rush brittle. Along with fiber mats handle,My Trach mats are also be molded by talent hands of the artists. Their hearts and emotions lay on looms. The combination of all characteristics that make My Trach famous mat village.
My Trach projectors are brought in places by the traders and received emotionally. Due to good sales, this job is expanding at the peak 90% of the population in the village doing weaving straw mats. My Trach mat weaving career is also spreading to My Thuan village.
The years after the liberation, weaving straw mats were prevalent, establishing Ninh Ha mat cooperative, constructing many growing- sedge teams which attract 50-70 members, clearing organizations, expanding the planted area to the rush forest. Until shrimp movement flourished, village schemed the planted area caused the narrowness of rush sedge fields, conceding to profitable shrimp square. Narrow rush field, lack of raw materials as well as downward movement of mats. However, Ha Ninh farmers still do not give up traditional career, they converted some bad fields, poor capacity to plant and purchase raw materials from elsewhere to maintain the village as well.
Remain traditional
A strange thing is that while many villages went into oblivion, the My Trach maintained traditional weaving straw mats career. Visitting Ms. Nhung’s house (My Trach), we were surprised when seeing her daughter and she still did passionately with looms. Sitting on "fighting horse" with jute yarn as the frame, Ms.Ngan (grade 11) cantered incremental fibers to one side. Outside, Ms. Nhung threw the shuttle, a section of it linked with fiber and threaded through looms. She confided: "I learned this job from my parents, until marriage I continued to work. Even though income is not high (every day we only earn 10 thousand VND), we also keep ourselves and has running receipts in the family .... "For My Trach people, although income from weaving straw mats are not high but that is the pride of their traditional ancestors left. Many people said, house does not have rice but having a warehouse strabismus (sedge) is considered seeing paddy field. House no rice to cook, just take the time to sit on the textile you would have a meal and frying oil. By that optimism which has helped My Trach villagers maintaining their career.
Current products include two types: caro projection (set and flowers projection) and line mat (textiles and less often). Prices depend on size and quality comparison. A pair of 1.4 m mats if traders buy on the spot: the reference price of 45,000 VND, compare pricing 120,000 VND; size of 1.6 m projection 50,000 VND and 150,000 VND for reference pricing. Because materials are so narrow that people have to purchase raw materials from elsewhere, which reduced income. Buying sedges in Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa), jute in theNorth or gear on the mountain. The My Trach growing rush areas has only 4 hectares.
The wishes of the My Trach people today are restoring the job. However, this is not simple. Determining this is the traditional village for conservation and development should so the village militia has supported capital from 120 projects, Farmers Assistance Fund helps farmers do business, considering this is a sub job, applying women, child labor to harvest the economic income households, ensuring that maintenance of traditional craft, no oblivion over time.
