On the morning of July 17th, at Ana Marina Yacht Club (North Nha Trang Ward), the VPS Cup International Sailing Race 2026 officially opened. Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Long Bien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province, representatives from various departments and agencies, and delegations of athletes from both domestic and international backgrounds.

This is the first time Nha Trang Bay has hosted a large-scale international sailing race. The competition brings together 9 teams from strong and professional clubs in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and domestic clubs. The participation of experienced athletes is expected to bring exciting races, contributing to raising Nha Trang's position on the regional marine sports map. Teams will compete in single-hull and twin-hull sailing events (J80 and Hobie Cat 16 types) in a points-based format to determine the champion.

Not only is it a competition between strong sailing teams in the region, the VPS Cup International Sailing Race is also expected to bring impressive images to the Nha Trang beach, adding a highlight to the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026. This is also an opportunity to promote the beauty of Nha Trang Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the world, to international friends, contributing to stimulating local tourism.
