On the afternoon of May 8th, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Khanh Hoa provincial People's Committee welcomed Mr. Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam and his delegation.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Viet Hung expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Ambassador and affirmed that the traditional friendship and good cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general, and between Khanh Hoa province and its Russian partners in particular are increasingly being strengthened and developed.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Viet Hung emphasized that Khanh Hoa province has a long and effective tradition of cooperation with Russian partners, especially the friendly relations and cooperation with Saint Petersburg. The two sides have signed and effectively implemented many cooperation agreements in various fields such as: economy, health, science and technology, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, contributing to promoting the image of Khanh Hoa to the Russian people and vice versa. Regarding investment and trade cooperation, there are currently about 150 businesses and 1 organization of Russian nationality investing and operating in Khanh Hoa province. In the field of tourism, Khanh Hoa province is a very attractive locality and receives many attention from Russian tourists. In the first four months of 2026, Khanh Hoa province welcomed 386,833 Russian visitors, an increase of 4.8 times compared to the same period last year.

Based on the positive results achieved between the two countries in general and between Khanh Hoa and some localities of Russia in particular, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Viet Hung hopes to receive attention, cooperation, and investment from Russian partners in the province, thereby promoting socio-economic development and fostering the good traditional friendship.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko respectfully thanked the provincial leaders for their warm welcome. He also highly appreciated the local development potential and expressed that the cooperative relationship between the two sides will continue to be strengthened in the future.

Mr. Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko stated that Khanh Hoa province is one of the localities that receives man attention from the Russian people. Besides tourism, Mr. Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko hopes that Khanh Hoa province and localities and partners of the Russian Federation will strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, culture, education, urbanization, information technology, etc. Mr. Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko expressed his belief that the good cooperative relationship between Khanh Hoa province and localities and partners of the Russian Federation will contribute to enriching the traditional cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
