On the morning of July 18, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee hosted a reception for Ms. Carolina Tinangon, Consul General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City, and her delegation during their working visit to the province. Representatives from various provincial departments and agencies also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Indonesian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Carolina Tinangon expressed her deep appreciation for her visit to Khanh Hoa. She congratulated the province on the successful opening night of the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026 held on the evening of July 17, commending the event's grand scale, artistic quality, and distinctive cultural identity. Discussing future cooperation, Consul General Tinangon noted that Khanh Hoa possesses significant advantages and potential for attracting tourists from Muslim-majority countries, while also highlighting the similarities between the two sides regarding signature products such as bird's nests and agarwood. The province has also recently undertaken proactive measures to tap into the Halal market.

The Indonesian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City proposed that Khanh Hoa province consider signing a cooperation agreement to establish twinned relationship with a comparable Indonesian counterpart. Beyond the key sector of tourism, Ms. Carolina Tinangon expressed her hope that both sides would strengthen promotion and connectivity in areas of specific strength such as the harvesting and processing of bird's nests and agarwood while also boosting cooperation in education, cultural and sports exchanges, and attracting investment in the near future. Indonesia stands ready to partner with and support the province in organizing specialized forums and seminars and connecting experts to share experiences, as well as assisting Khanh Hoa in developing standards and issuing Halal product certifications that meet international requirements.

Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Ha expressed his pleasure and extended sincere thanks to Ms. Carolina Tinangon and her delegation for attending the Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2026. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha outlined Khanh Hoa Province's notable socio-economic achievements in recent times and shared the strategic development direction for the upcoming period. The Vice Chairman acknowledged and highly appreciated the practical contributions and effective cooperation of Indonesian partners, businesses, and investors toward the province's overall development. Specifically, in the first five months of Khanh Hoa's export turnover to the Indonesian market reached 2.4 million USD, driven by key products such as textiles, coffee, and machinery parts. In the tourism sector, the flow of visitors from Indonesia to Khanh Hoa has maintained steady growth, reaching nearly 2,500 arrivals annually.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the locality warmly welcomes foreign investors and is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for them to explore opportunities and develop business operations in the province. He also expressed hope that Ms. Carolina Tinangon would serve as a vital link in introducing potential investors to Khanh Hoa, aiming to build an integrated production supply chain capable of meeting the rigorous standards of the Halal market. However, provincial leader acknowledged the current lack of direct flights between Khanh Hoa and Indonesia; consequently, the province plans to pursue measures to establish the direct air flight soon, thereby boosting trade and tourism cooperation between the two sides.
