According to Ambassador Touch Sopharath, Khanh Hoa has many similarities with coastal localities of Cambodia, especially in terms of natural conditions and potential for developing marine tourism. This is a favorable foundation for the two sides to strengthen linkages, exchange experiences, and build joint tourism products. Ambassador Touch Sopharath expressed his hope that in the future, Khanh Hoa and localities of Cambodia will continue to expand substantive cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, and tourism; and at the same time create conditions for the business communities of both sides to strengthen connections, explore cooperation opportunities, and contribute to deepening the friendly relations between the two countries.

Speaking at the reception, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Xuan Truong expressed his pleasure in welcoming Ambassador Touch Sopharath on his first visit to Khanh Hoa province since assuming his duties in Vietnam. Mr. Ho Xuan Truong also provided an overview of the province's socio-economic development after the merger, particularly highlighting its outstanding advantages in marine economy, tourism, logistics, seaports, and energy. In addition, Standing Deputy Secretary Ho Xuan Truong stated that Khanh Hoa province is focusing on effectively utilizing special mechanisms and policies to achieve double-digit economic growth, aiming to build Khanh Hoa into a centrally-governed city.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed that, based on the traditionally good neighborly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia, Khanh Hoa province always attaches importance to developing cooperative relations with Stung Treng province and other localities in Cambodia. However, the results of cooperation in the past have not been commensurate with the potential, especially in the field of tourism. Currently, flights connecting Khanh Hoa and Cambodia only maintain 1 to 3 flights per week and are expected to increase in frequency in the near future. Therefore, Mr. Ho Xuan Truong hoped that the Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam would continue to be a bridge to promote connections between localities and business communities of the two countries, expanding cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment and tourism; contributing to realizing the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and Cambodia to 20 billion USD; and further deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries.
