On the afternoon of January 16th, the Provincial People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the My Hoa - Khanh Hoa International Kiteboarding Championship 2026. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Long Bien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of Vinh Hai commune; and 200 domestic and international athletes participating in the competition.

With the theme “My Hoa Kites - Reach Blue Ocean”, the tournament takes place from January 15th to 17th 2026 at the My Hoa Beach Kiteboarding Area, Vinh Hai Commune, Khanh Hoa Province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien emphasized that the My Hoa - Khanh Hoa International Kiteboarding Tournament is a practical and meaningful sports and tourism event, marking the beginning of a series of large-scale tourism and sports activities and events in the province in 2026. The tournament not only creates a professional and attractive sporting arena for domestic and international athletes, but also contributes to effectively developing the potential and advantages of marine sports; gradually forming new and unique tourism products; and thereby strongly promoting the image of Khanh Hoa as a dynamic, friendly, and integrated region. The organization of this tournament clearly demonstrates the innovative thinking and strategic vision of Khanh Hoa province in developing tourism towards a professional, green, sustainable, and deeply integrated approach, closely linking sports, tourism, culture, and the local economy. Through this tournament, Khanh Hoa province is gradually positioning and affirming its brand as an international marine sports destination, contributing to extending the length of stay, improving the quality of spending of tourists, and spreading the benefits of development to the local community. With that expectation, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes that the International Kiteboarding Tournament will be a great success, leaving a deep impression on athletes, tourists, and international friends; thereby making an important contribution to the goal of building Khanh Hoa into a major tourism, service, and marine economic center of the country and the region.

With an international scale, the tournament attracted approximately 200 athletes from Vietnam and abroad in the following events: Race: men's and women's individual race, organized into groups of athletes to select the fastest finishers for the finals, determining first, second, and third class. Technical Competition (Big Air Tricks): Individual competition for men and women, in rounds (7-10 minutes/round), scored from 1-10 based on height and performance skills to select finalists.

The opening ceremony, featuring a vibrant artistic program attracted a large number of tourists and locals. The program also included appearances by Miss Vietnam 2023 Bui Xuan Hanh and Miss Universe Vietnam 2025 runner-up Do Cam Ly.

The event also includes notable activities such as: Free "Kiteboarding with Experts" experience for tourists and locals, combined with check-in and receive gifts; cultural and culinary booths, OCOP products, local products, and kiteboarding equipment; a "Sea Energy" music night with a vibrant artistic program; a tour exploring the scenic spots of Southern Khanh Hoa (Vinh Hy Bay, Hang Rai Cave, Bau Truc Pottery Village, etc.) at discounted prices; and an environmental protection activity "Volunteer Saturday - Cleaning My Hoa Beach" on the morning of January 17th.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates and commemorative plaques to 20 units and businesses that partnered with the competition.

The artistic program also featured a performance by Miss Universe Vietnam 2025 runner-up Do Cam Ly.
The closing ceremony will take place at 5:30 PM on January 17, 2026, combined with a Gala Dinner and awards ceremony for outstanding athletes.
