On the afternoon of January 8th, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, held a working session with a delegation from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and the National Economics University to discuss strategic cooperation directions to serve the goal of rapid and sustainable development of the province in the new phase.
At the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Long Bien provided an overview of Khanh Hoa's socio-economic development after the administrative reorganization, with an area of over 8,500 km² and a population of over 2.2 million people. By 2025, the province's economic growth rate reaches 7.11%, with many indicators exceeding the plan; the economic structure is shifting towards modernization, with industry, construction, and services accounting for over 80%. The province has formulated a double-digit growth strategy for the 2025-2030 period and aims to become a centrally-governed city by 2027. Simultaneously, social welfare policies were fully and promptly implemented; the province completed the "Quang Trung Campaign" on schedule (building 89 new houses and repairing 290 houses); with taking care of Lunar New Year for policy beneficiaries and people affected by natural disasters.

Evaluating the results of cooperation over the past period, the Provincial People's Committee acknowledges the positive contributions of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in training, professional development, and policy consulting. From 2023 to the present, the university has collaborated in training master's students in public administration and smart urban management; organized STEM training for teachers and students; and implemented many capacity-building programs for officials, civil servants, and public employees. Many training programs have been implemented to enhance the capacity of officials, civil servants, and public employees. During the period 2025-2030, both sides will continue to expand cooperation in areas such as policy consultation and critique, human resource development, scientific and technological research, digital transformation, smart city development, and international cooperation. In particular, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City is collaborating on the development of the province's smart city development plan and participating in the consultation process for adjusting the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
With training and research cooperation, training and research facility project of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in Khanh Hoa province was commenced in August 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2026. It promises to become a high-quality training and research center, directly serving the human resource development needs of the province and the region.

Concluding the working session, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Long Bien, emphasized that cooperation with reputable training and research institutions must be closely linked to major resolutions of the Central Government and the province's strategic development orientation, ensuring substance, effectiveness, and depth. The province agreed to elevate the cooperative relationship with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and the National Economics University towards a strategic, comprehensive, and long-term approach, focusing on key areas such as consulting on developing solutions for double-digit growth. Training high-quality human resources, developing science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, smart cities, and supporting the effective implementation of the Politburo's resolutions on private sector economic development.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Internal Affairs to chair, in coordination with the Provincial People's Committee Office and relevant departments and agencies, as the focal point for advising on the implementation of cooperation agreements; the Department of Science and Technology to coordinate the implementation of contents on innovation and digital transformation; and the Department of Education and Training, together with the Department of Internal Affairs, to develop a plan for training and fostering cadres, civil servants, and public employees according to practical needs. Departments, agencies, and localities should proactively propose specific tasks according to their areas of management to concretize the cooperation contents, ensuring synchronized and effective implementation.
