On the morning of August 19, 2025, along with localities across the country, Khanh Hoa province simultaneously broke ground on four major projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Nha Trang city Mixed-Use Urban Area Project took place at the North Hon Ong Fishing Area in Nam Nha Trang Ward. Attending the ceremony from the Central Government was Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Central Party Committee, Minister of Justice. From Khanh Hoa province, there was Mr. Tran Hoa Nam - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders from various departments, sectors, and localities. At the ceremony, the delegates performed the button-pressing ceremony, officially launching the Nha Trang Mixed-Use Urban Area Project. The project is invested by the joint venture of Halong Sun Company Limited and Asean Halong Tourism Joint Stock Company (under the Sun Group), covering an area of 226.71 hectares, with a projected population of over 19,000 people; total investment capital of over 17 trillion VND; it is the first project invested by Sun Group in Khanh Hoa province.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Tran Hoa Nam affirmed that the Nha Trang Mixed-Use Urban Area Project is a large-scale project with strategic significance for the urban development of Khanh Hoa province. Upon completion, the Nha Trang Mixed-Use Urban Area will not only provide a new urban landscape for the southern area of the city but also become an attractive destination, creating jobs for thousands of workers, making significant contributions to the local budget, enhancing the quality of life for residents, and increasing the appeal of the investment and tourism environment. This will be an important boost, creating new growth momentum for Khanh Hoa on its path towards the goal of becoming a centrally governed city by 2030. The groundbreaking ceremony not only marks the beginning of four major projects but also demonstrates the determination of the Party Committee, government, people, and business community in building a green, smart, modern, and culturally rich Khanh Hoa. It is known that on the morning of the same day, Khanh Hoa province simultaneously broke ground on 4 major projects with a total investment of nearly 20.2 trillion VND to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, including: the Nha Trang city Mixed Urban Area Project; Training and Research Facility of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh city in Nha Trang; the investment and construction project for the infrastructure of the Doc Da Trang Industrial Park; and social housing in the Thanh Hai resettlement area. The groundbreaking ceremony was broadcast live on KTV of Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio, connecting with the central point at the National Exhibition Center (Hanoi) and 4 local points in the province.
