On the morning of September 27th,
Vietnam - South Africa Trade, Investment and Tourism promotion
conference took place in Nha Trang city. Attending the conference were
Mr. Mpetiane Kgaogelo Lekgoro - Ambassador of South Africa in Vietnam,
representatives of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Khanh Hoa
province (VCCI Khanh Hoa) and more than 70 enterprises in the province.

At
the conference, Mr. Mpetiane Kgaogelo Lekgoro introduced the potential,
strengths and culture of South Africa; At the same time, he emphasized
that there are many opportunities for cooperation between Vietnam and
South Africa in the fields of tourism, garment, agriculture, seafood
processing industry. Mr. Mpetiane Kgaogelo Lekgoro highly appreciated
the potentials and strengths of Khanh Hoa province and affirmed the
relationship between the two sides is developing in a good way. Mr.
Mpetiane Kgaogelo Lekgoro wishes that the conference will contribute to
raising the trade balance and many other areas between Vietnam and South
Africa together to develop sustainably.
In
the first 6 months of 2018, the export turnover of Khanh Hoa
enterprises to South Africa reached over 87.4 thousand USD, more than
three times higher than the same period last year and more than 56% over
the whole of 2017. The goods with high exports density are fishery,
frozen fish. However, the expansion of partners in the South African
market of Khanh Hoa enterprises is still quite modest. Only 3 to 4
enterprises of Khanh Hoa province have regular trade relations in this
market.
It
is known that after the conference, the delegation of South Africa will
visit some enterprises in Khanh Hoa province to learn and seize
opportunities for investment cooperation in the coming time.
