This is one of the specific goals of Khanh Hoa province in continuing to implement the Action Program No.14-CTr/TU dated July 24th 2017 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee (session XVII) on implementing the Resolution. No. 08-NQ/TW dated January 16th 2017 of the Politburo on developing tourism to become key economic sector, striving to complete the goal of developing Khanh Hoa tourism and services in the spirit of the Resolution of 18th Congress of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.

Accordingly, in the period of 2021 - 2023, striving to achieve total revenue from tourists reaching 200 trillion VND (about 8.8 billion USD); contribute directly to GRDP from 15 - 17%. Create jobs for over 160,000 direct employees in the tourism industry. There are 70,000 tourist accommodation rooms, of which about 70% of the rooms have the standard quality of 3-5 stars. Strive to attract 11 million tourists stay by 2025, including 5 million international visitors; maintain the average growth rate of tourists 22%/year (the period 2021 - 2023 increases 20%/ year), of which international visitors are 25%/year (the period 2021 - 2023 increases 23%/year).
In order to accomplish the above mentioned goals, Khanh Hoa province has also proposed solutions and key tasks such as: Building Khanh Hoa tourism development strategy to 2030 and orientation to 2050 with the key task of restructuring Khanh Hoa tourism activities ensures 3 main goals: Developing tourism to become a key economic sector, sustainable development in association with green growth and key tourism business exploitation, focus on growth quality and professionalism. To perfect the incentive mechanism to attract social capital to invest in upgrading traffic infrastructure, large-scale entertainment area, center for art performance; encourage the development of new products, specific products, and strategic products and services; development policy of value chain of related industries such as: Transport, culture - sport, labor, industry and trade, agriculture and rural development, to link and use for tourism services development. Study on the mechanism to create the provincial tourism development fund to prioritize the use for the protection of natural resources, conservation of historical and cultural relics; promote and popularize development of the tourist market; raising community awareness in building tourism environment; support the direct human resources training serving tourism activities. Improve operational capacity of state management agencies related to tourism activities. Focus on building and well implement regulations on coordination in the state management of tourism, inspection and handling of violations. To take the initiative in training and developing human resources for tourism, in the immediate future, to ensure the quantity and quality of workers directly in the tourism industry. Effectively cooperate with key tourism localities to create links to promote tourism, connect destinations and link in training and development of human resources. Strengthen international cooperation in tourism development to take advantage of the support in terms of experience, management and exploitation of tourism development. Accelerate the application of information technology in tourism based on digital economy and apply technology achievements in the world to create a breakthrough in the mode of management and administration of tourism activities. Putting into operation the digital media system for communication advertising solutions, tourism promotion, gradually replacing the old traditional methods such as: Organizing, participating in fairs, issuing brochure... is no longer consistent with current market trends.
Currently, Vietnam is controlling quite well the Covid-19 epidemic; the chance of recovering tourism after the epidemic will be fast. Convenient connection and opening of air routes will quickly revive the domestic passenger market. For international visitors it will depend on when the Covid-19 epidemic is controlled in the world, especially in the following countries: China, Korea and Russia - Three major markets accounting for over 95% of international visitors to Khanh Hoa. Cam Ranh International Airport has been certified "medical standard" by the International Airport Council to meet to operate again. On the other hand, the Government has had a policy for each locality to actively develop plans and project to safely welcome guests. This is a favorable condition for the Khanh Hoa tourism industry to coordinate with Cam Ranh International Airport in building isolated packages from countries around the world and Vietnamese overseas to Khanh Hoa for their holiday.

In the period of 2017 - 2020, the tourism growth of Khanh Hoa province will remain at a high level (2-3 times the national average tourist growth rate); income from tourism has increased rapidly; Being one of the most attractive and effective localities for investment in tourism development in Vietnam, the province's accommodation has a large number of rooms and diversified types, especially 4-5 stars resorts and hotels of domestic well-known brands and large international brands. Tourism products are regularly invested in improving quality, step by step going in depth with a number of specific and highly competitive products. In particular, Cam Ranh International Airport has put into operation the second runway in 2018, increasing the service capacity of the international terminal to 10 million passengers/year. The orientation of expanding tourism development space in the area of Cam Ranh Bay and Van Phong Bay is opening up new prospects in Khanh Hoa tourism development, creating a feasible foundation for the province to develop fast and sustainable tourism, ensuring that by 2025, Khanh Hoa will be one of the major tourism and service centers of the country.
