On August 20th, the Khanh Hoa Tourism Department in coordination with the Tourism Association of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa organized the final round of the contest of "Fighting the use of plastic waste in tourism accommodation ".

Participating in this round, 12 teams from 11 businesses are tourist accommodation, companies providing products for hotels in the province presented the ideas of: Friendly products to the environment (wooden pencils, conical hats, sedge bags, sedge sandals, bamboo baskets, reticule, porcelain bottles contain shampoo, shower cream...); products replacing disposable plastic and hard-biodegradable plastic bags (paper cups, straws, boxes made from sugar-cane dregs, glass bottles, baskets made of bamboo...); model of collection, recycling and treatment waste. After 1 day of competition, the team of Nha Trang Evason Ana Mandara Resort won the first prize; Nha Trang Rosaka Hotel and Nha Trang Champa Island Hotel won the second prize; Nha Trang Novotel Hotel and Nha Trang Amiana Resort are third place. In addition, the Organizing Committee also gave 7 consolation prizes to the remaining teams.
Reportedly, besides the competition of the ideas contest on " Against on the use of plastic waste in tourism accommodation establishments", recently, the provincial Tourism Department has cooperated with related departments, agencies and units to organize 7 classes to training on environmental protection for tourism businesses in the province; mobilize 500 volunteers from schools, tourism businesses, youth union members ... to collect rubbish at the coastal park area along Tran Phu street (Nha Trang city), Long Son Pagoda area and the Cu Hin pass.
