Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just promulgated a plan to implement the Project "Conservation and promotion of traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic minorities in the period of 2020-2030" in the province.

The project has set specific goals for each period. In particular, in the period of 2020 - 2025, a total inventory and list of intangible cultural heritage on traditional costumes of ethnic minorities in the province will be implemented; Building models of preserving and promoting Raglai traditional costumes in Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts (one model for each locality); organizing the implementaion for ethnic minority students to wear traditional costumes at ethnic Minority Boarding Schools from 2022 (2 times a week and on holidays, New Year, festivals); enhancing the propagation and promotion of intangible cultural heritages of ethnic minority traditional costumes through cultural festivals, festivals, contests, art shows; organizing propaganda and promoting the propagation on the preservation of ethnic minority costumes in appropriate forms (on mass media, social networks ...)…
Period of 2026 - 2030: In addition to continuing to maintain the implementation of the above contents, a Festival of performing traditional costumes of ethnic minorities in Khanh Hoa province will be organized and integrated into the program of Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day (April 19); organizing showrooms, introducing and selling products of traditional costumes in tourist areas and destinations.
The provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to lead and coordinate with relevant agencies, organizations and units to implement this plan.

Up to now, Khanh Hoa province has more than 72,000 ethnic minorities (accounting for more than 5.6% of the provincial population). Of which, Raglai ethnic minority accounts for the largest number (about 78%), The majority of ethnic minorities live in two districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh and some communes in Cam Ranh city, Ninh Hoa town, Cam Lam district, Dien Khanh.
