This is the theme of the national scientific conference organized by Khanh Hoa University in collaboration with Vietnam Tourist Education Association (VITEA) and Galina Nha Trang Hotel. The workshop is within the framework of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2019.

At the seminar, more than 100 delegates are managers, businesses, experts in the tourism industry across the country, discussed and shared the contents: Perspective on human resources situation of Vietnam Tourism industry; training high quality tourism human resources to meet social needs; impact of the industrial revolution 4.0 and the requirement for tourism human resources in the current period. Besides, the workshop also spent a lot of time for delegates to share and propose solutions to improve the quality of tourism human resources in the coming time; Local tourism marketing during the period of industrial revolution 4.0.
According to VITEA, at present, the quality of human resources of the Vietnam Tourism industry is still quite low, the proportion of workers with professional tourism is only about 43%; more than 50% of tourism workers do not know foreign languages. Every year, Vietnam tourism industry needs about 40,000 more workers but the training capacity of the schools has not met this number. Up to now, there are 196 tourism training institutions with about 22,000 students graduate every year. Including about 1,800 professional university and college students; 2,100 students of Tourism College, 18,200 intermediate students. In addition, there are about 5,000 primary workers and vocational training for less than 3 months.
