On the afternoon of February 1st, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments, agencies, branches and localities had a meeting and worked with the delegation of the World Bank (WB) on the progress of implementation of Sustainable Environment Project in Coastal Cities - Nha Trang Subproject (CCSEP Nha Trang Project) and Ngoc Hiep Resettlement Area Infrastructure Construction Project .

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan said that the Provincial People's Committee has drastically directed departments, agencies, sectors and localities to implement projects; organizing propaganda and mobilizing affected people to understand the purpose and meaning of the project as well as compensation policies and complaint handling mechanism. Currently, the locality has approved the compensation plan for 578/585 cases affected by the CCSEP Nha Trang Project; inventory and verification of land origin 585/585 cases; basically completed the price appraisal and will list, announce and publicize in the coming time; complete infrastructure 196 resettlement lots… Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan affirmed to the WB delegation, Khanh Hoa province is determined to successfully implement the CCSEP Nha Trang Project; and at the same time assign relevant departments, agencies, branches and localities to urgently inspect and review procedures, propose plans and solutions to thoroughly solve difficulties and problems in ground clearance and handling adequately handle complaints, ensure project implementation progress; report the implementation progress to the WB on time as required.
Members of the WB's delegation assessed that the implementation of site clearance, compensation, support and resettlement of the CCSEP Nha Trang project are still slow as the set schedule. The World Bank's delegation suggested that Khanh Hoa province come up with effective solutions to speed up site clearance, properly handle complaints, and ensure the successful implementation of the project; at the same time, report on the results of compensation and settlement of complaints sent to the WB mission before February 10th.
