On the afternoon of December 20th 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a cultural diplomacy conference: "Implementing the Strategy for Cultural Diplomacy to 2030: Proactively adapting, contributing to spreading values and promoting Vietnamese products” in the form of direct with online. Speaking at the opening of the conference, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasized: The Cultural Diplomacy Strategy to 2030 is the product of collective intelligence and has been widely consulted, so the Strategy is both meaningful and theoretical and practical, both specific and general. The strategy has three outstanding new points: Clarifying the connotation of cultural diplomacy, defining the task of cultural diplomacy to serve two goals (foreign policy and cultural development policy); identify target and implementation partners are localities, people, businesses; Update and specify 5 key tasks (promoting relations, cultural integration, promoting the country, campaigning for titles, absorbing the human quintessence)...
The conference focused on discussing effective measures to implement the Cultural Diplomacy Strategy to 2030, such as: Promoting the role of representative agencies in implementing cultural diplomacy in the coming period. Implement foreign cultural activities in order to thoroughly grasp the guidelines and policies of the National Cultural Conference. The role of Vietnamese representative agency abroad in creative and proactive adaptation in cultural diplomacy. Solutions to spread and promote the value of UNESCO heritage in the new context.
