On November 28, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) held the launching ceremony of Viet Nam Sugar Joint Stock Company (Vietsugar) in Tan Quy village, Cam Thanh Bac commune, Cam Lam district. Ms. Truong Thi Mai - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization; and Mr. Dao Cong Thien - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa People's Committee attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, the participants reviewed over 28 years of construction and development of Khanh Hoa Sugar Company and witnessed the launching rite of Viet Nam Sugar Joint Stock Company.

The precursor was Dien Khanh Cane Factory built in 1989, Over the years, Khanh Hoa Sugar Company Limited has always been the strong support of thousands of sugarcane farmers in Khanh Hoa and neighboring provinces. From the capacity of only a few hundred tons of sugar cane per day in the early time of construction, now, the company has reached the capacity of 10,000 tons of sugar cane per day; refining raw sugar 1,500 tons/day. With the strategy to focus in investing and expanding the raw material areas to take the initiative in production and business, serving the needs of domestic and foreign consumers, In 2017, Vinamilk owns 65% stock of Khanh Hoa Sugar Company Limited and officially changed its name to Vietnam Sugar Joint Stock Company. The cooperation between the two units will bring new directions for the sugar industry of Vietnam; Step by step helping sugarcane growers improve their competitiveness and actively integrate into the sugar industry in the region and globally. Next time, the company will invest to expand the capacity up to 15,000 tons of sugarcane per day; refining raw sugar 2,000 tons/day.
On this occasion, Vietnam Sugar Joint Stock Company donated 77,000 cups of milk worth 500 million VND to Khanh Hoa Red Cross to support children in the storm zone; donating 500 million VND to Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training to repair damaged schools due to the storm No.12. In addition, Khanh Hoa Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV Khanh Hoa) has also donated 500 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to relieve people affected by the storm.
