On the morning of October 7, in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee organized the Khanh Hoa - Japan Investment Promotion Conference in 2023. Attending the conference were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc; Mr. Do Nhat Hoang - Director of the Foreign Investment Department of the Ministry of Planning and Investment; Mr. Ono Masuo - Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nakajima - Chairman of the Japan Trade Promotion Organization in Vietnam. On the side of Khanh Hoa province, there was Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Le Huu Hoang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Tran Ngoc Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Ms. Pham Thi Xuan Trang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and about 300 delegates from ministries, departments, central branches, localities, organizations, and business associations of Vietnam and Japan.

Through the conference, Khanh Hoa province conveyed to Japanese investors the province's development orientation; specific policies for the development of Khanh Hoa province; approved plans and current investment and business activities of Japanese enterprises in Khanh Hoa... This conference is also an opportunity for Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to continue promoting investment promotion activities for Khanh Hoa with the Japanese market. The focus is to promote investment attraction in industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province in industries, fields and projects that the province is calling for investment; promote tourism and introduce the province's tourism products and services to Japanese customers; Promote goods consumption activities, trade connections and cultural exchanges between the two sides.

This is considered an important premise that opens many opportunities for cooperation, promoting the development of investment and business activities between Khanh Hoa and Japan based on the potential and advantages of each side.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc said that the Khanh Hoa - Japan investment promotion and connection conference is the next event in the series of events organized by Vietnamese localities to celebrate Celebrating 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, contributing to further deepening the extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia between the two countries. This is also a meaningful opportunity to enhance in-depth understanding of the relationship between the two countries and future cooperation prospects. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc also affirmed that the potential for cooperation between Khanh Hoa and Japan in the field of tourism and services is still very large due to Khanh Hoa's advantage of owning many famous beaches and international airports. Therefore, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc hopes that Japanese investors and businesses will continue to choose Khanh Hoa as a destination to explore cooperation and investment opportunities.

At the end of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan affirmed that, based on the memorandum of cooperation between the Foreign Investment Department, the Provincial Department of Planning and Investment, and the Japanese Business Association in the Ho Chi Minh City and the Japan Trade Promotion Organization, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee will assign the Department of Planning and Investment to advise and act as the focal point to concretize the memorandum contents into specific activities with clearly implemented schedule to increase promotion and invite Japanese investors to Khanh Hoa, recently the province's investment promotion trip to Japan in early November 2023. At the same time, the Department of Planning and Investment will also act as the focal point to receive and coordinate with relevant units to handle all requests and recommendations of Japanese investors. After this conference, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to direct departments and branches to pay attention to implementing a number of tasks such as: Promoting reform of administrative procedures, improving the investment and business environment; Implement many solutions to continue maintaining high rankings in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI); Accelerate the implementation of dynamic transport projects, linking regions and areas to create competitiveness in attracting investment. Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan also emphasized that Khanh Hoa province always cares and views businesses and investors as the driving force and center of the province's socio-economic development.

* It is known that up to now, Khanh Hoa province has attracted about 607 investment projects with non-budget capital sources, with a total registered investment capital of more than 480 trillion VND. Of which, Van Phong Economic Zone attracts 150 investment projects; Suoi Dau Industrial Park attracts 57 investment projects. For FDI projects, Khanh Hoa province attracted 111 projects with a total registered investment capital of 3.825 billion USD. Including 6 Japanese projects with a total registered investment capital of 2.652 billion USD, accounting for nearly 70% of total FDI capital.
