This is the main topic of the training organized by Nha Trang University in collaboration with United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), held from October 29th to November 9th 2018 in Nha Trang City.

At the training course, 50 participants are experts from a number of agencies, institutes, schools and associations of 18 countries who discussed the issues related to the potential exploitation of the fishery sector such as: Development potential of fisheries and aquaculture sectors; global supply and demand trends for international trade in regional and domestic; the environment and the impact of climate change; biodiversity, coastal protection and natural resources; Challenges and opportunities for Southeast Asian and African countries to meet international food safety and quality standards; Fisheries management and illegal fishing activities, not yet reported or controlled; Challenges for developing countries in the sustainable management of fisheries resources and control of overfishing; Market access, subsidies and non-commercial barriers UNCTAD ...
Besides the training course, participants also visited sites in some aquaculture farms in Ninh Hoa town, Nha Trang city, Cam Lam district and seafood processing factories, laboratories of Nha Trang University, National Aquaculture Center.
