On June 25th, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee held inauguration ceremony of the Center for Natural Disaster Prevention and Reduction. Mr. Dao Cong Thien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mary Tarnowka - Consul General of the United States in Ho Chi Minh City attended the ceremony.
Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate Khanh Hoa Disaster Prevention and Reduction Center.
Provincial Center for Natural Disaster Prevention and Reduction was set up in 2016 at Hon Ro II Residential Area, Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City. This project is supported by the US Pacific Command to build the central building, machinery system, equipment. The center has a total floor area of over 700m2 with 3 floors, including functional rooms: operator, communication. In addition, there are branch communication stations installed in Van Ninh, Dien Khanh, Khanh Vinh, Cam Lam and Ninh Hoa. Total investment of the project is about 15 billion Dong.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dao Cong Thien said that the provincial Center for Natural Disaster Prevention and Mitigation is an important project, helping the authorities at all levels and Khanh Hoa people to be more active in the management, to promptly respond to the damage caused by natural calamities or disasters in the localities; At the same time, Khanh Hoa province will manage, use effectively for the purpose of the project.
