On the morning of May 16th 2019, the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) meeting on "Promoting Economic and Social Inclusion in Asia and Europe" was officially opened in the Nha Trang city. Attending the conference were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Cuong; Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Doan Mau Diep; Mr. Le Duc Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and over 180 delegates are senior leaders of the agency belonging to 53 ASEM members.
Leaders of ministries, branches in central and Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee took souvenir photos with delegates from 53 ASEM members.
At the conference, participants focused on exchanging experiences, proposing practical initiatives through four discussion sessions: Understanding the reality of global growth in the 21st century; Asia - Europe experience; Role and participation of stakeholders; Promoting Asia and Europe cooperation on Economic and Social Inclusion development.
According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Cuong, the regions and each country are facing different opportunities and challenges, especially in terms of increasing the development gap, the number and income gap, employment, inadequate gender equality and global challenges related to terrorism, transnational crimes, cyber security, climate change ... Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Cuong said that ASEM should agree to awake, act to ensure sustainable, creative and inclusive development, become the highest target of growth, motivate prosperity in Asia and Europe; At the same time, the initiatives proposed at the ASEM Conference that should be put people into the center of development; enhance participation and bring practical benefits to people.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Duc Vinh said that ASEM Conference has practical meaning and takes place at the right time that the world speed up and promoting sustainable and inclusive development, solving challenges on climate change, environmental protection, gender equality, education and health ... With the appropriate and practical topic, Mr. Le Duc Vinh believed that the conference would offer many solutions to help ASEM members to reduce inequality, increase sustainability, inclusively for society and economy.
The conference will close on May 17th. After the closing, delegates will visit some tourist sites and businesses in Khanh Hoa province.
